This is precisely how the Soviets used to airbrush fallen-from-favour folk out of official portraits (well, no Photoshop back then so it was a a lot more laborious - but then again, what was there to do except drink too much vodka and whack each other with bunches of twigs). Craig: I didn't recreate the arm - I was working with the cut and paste from the second image. The guy pictured on the far left has been completely replaced between the first image and the third.
